About

Hazer Coşgun Kırkpınar — HAZERICO

Hazer Coşgun Kırkpınar is a contemporary artist exploring the physical, optical, and symbolic potential of glass. She began working with glass in 2015, developing her skills in various studios in Istanbul and Bodrum and completing a two-year applied training program at the Glass Furnace Foundation. In 2021, she established her own studio in Istanbul, where she continues her independent artistic practice.

Her work combines fused glass and hot glass techniques in experimental ways, often uniting technically incompatible materials through special methods. These interventions bring together light, reflection, transparency, and refraction with themes of inner transformation, spiritual quests, and ancient knowledge systems.

Drawing inspiration from the prehistoric cultures of Anatolia, her series such as Luvi and Bir-Bilinç (One-Consciousness) investigate collective memory, essential knowledge, and the symbolism of light. In addition to her individual work, Kırkpınar creates site-specific glass installations for architectural and interior projects, positioning glass as a medium of expression and atmosphere in both public and private spaces.
